Annual Lecture 2014

October: The Annual Lecture:  Maxwell Hutchinson
Saturday, 11 October at 2.30 for 3.00pm
Maxwell Hutchinson, architect, television broadcaster, writer and composer, among other things, addressed some 100 Friends and guests on the subject of How lovely is your dwelling place. It was an exploration of how architecture can contribute to the sense of the sacred with reference to size, shape, style, shadow, statement, sound, smell, symbolism and sacrament. A lively discussion ensued followed by tea and a variety of delicious homemade cakes including Victoria sponge, coffee, polenta and rosemary and ginger cakes, French apple and almond tart, lemon drizzle and carrot cake.
