DECEMBER ZOOM EVENT
Join Alexandra Loske for her Christmas talk on Zoom
The Moon in Literature: From Sappho to Katie Paterson
Friday 18th December 6.00 for 6.30 pm.
Free and available to all Friends of St Michaels
Following on from her earlier talk exploring the visual representation of the Moon in art and science, Alexandra returns with another perspective on our nearest celestial neighbour.
Alexandra will give an illustrated talk about how our obsession with the Moon has manifested itself in literature and poetry, from earliest examples from the 6th century BCE, via post-1600 imagined journeys to the Moon and Romantic symbolism, to the rise of science fiction and recent literature about all things lunar.
Registration We ask you to register your interest in advance as soon as possible.
The closing date for registration is 12 pm on Wednesday 16th December.
